What’s happening Music is Life readers its now time for another installment of The Hollywood Hangout. This time I have the honor and privilege to interview a very talented and beautiful artist from The DMV. You may have known her as Lady Venom or Lady V but, you can now officially call her Cedes. Sooo lets get to it! Lights, camera, ACTION!!!

HHO: Before we actually get started lets speak on the name change, you went from Lady Venom aka Lady V to Cedes why the name change?

C: I think I have grown as much as I will with the name Venom. I feel in order to grow more I have to grow hence the name change. Venom was the younger rapper in me while Cedes is the lady. Plus it's a short version of my name Mercedes which simply states I’m real.

HHO: With the name change is your music going to change?

C: I would like to think and say my name never affected me as a person or my music. However, I do believe there will be some minor changes. Growing as a woman has made me change my name. Changing my music has to be a part of that too.

HHO: Who are musical influences and why?

C: I started out with typical industry influences like Queen Latifah, MC Lyte and Scarface because they spoke what I knew was the truth in their music. Also because they gave me an option to be real, instead of rapping about just sex. Now. I have to say my fellow artist in the DC metro area also known as the DMV influence me. They give me the strength and drive to keep pushing. Ill never tell them who they are or why though lol...

HHO: You are a versatile artist why do you think you can do that it’s so many artists that lack versatility?

C: First of all thank you lol. I think I can be versatile because I don't box myself in. I open my mind to all kinds of genres of music, religions and cultures.

HHO: The rap game is such a male driven genre here in the DMV what makes you stand out?

C: I think my passion on top of my charisma mixed with real lyrics people believe make me hotter than most guys. You call it swag lol...

HHO: Now I understand that you're part of a female super group do you want to talk about that?

C: Please say yes! lol

HAHA look at you trying to get the dirt. Yes, I along with Maria J, Madom Madon, Jay Mills and a few other feature ladies are working together. We have not and will not release a name as of yet but I hope your ready.

HHO: So when can we expect to hear something from ya'll?

C: We are currently working on a few different projects ranging from solos to a group mix tape.

HHO: So when do we actually catch the debut single from The Official Cedes?

C: I haven't quite decided that but I am in the mist of working on it.

HHO: Mix tapes albums videos what can we expect?

C: I’m currently working on a video with Freeze Sols and another with Metro's Own. My next solo video will be off the first project for a single I once used then pushed under the rug lol. As for albums and mix tapes you have to wait and see.

HHO:Any shout outs or something else you want to add this is your time to shine.

C: To all of my DMV artist who push and push everyday to get where we deserve to be THANK YOU!!! I LOVE MY CITY!!!

HHO:Well thank you Cedes for coming thru and Hanging out with me at The Hollywood Hangout. I look forward to hearing more from you. Keep doing your thing I see success is right around the corner.

C: No, thank you.

HHO:Tell the readers how they can find you and hear your music.
