Certified (Matt Jones), was born on January 14th 1985, in Baltimore,MD. He developed a passion for music in grade school, where he started as a singer/song-writer. Heavily influenced by the hip-hop community (Biggie,Pac,BigL,Snoop,Dre), Certified studied the craft of song composition & writing. With the help of his mentor Cody "Codes" Hahn, the two began making hip-hop mixtapes in 2003. During studio sessions, Certified developed a passion for audio engineering. He decided to study music composition and technology at Towson University. During school, he took song-writing/composition & recording classes. Always in the recording studio, Certified networked with plenty of artists in Baltimore including Abraham "Brams" Pleah. Hard working on mixtapes, Certified began producing/engineering for Brams. Thanks to DJ ScotteeLP, Cettified began making beats in 2007. He started out by sampling, then in late 2007, he was introduced to James "BKS" Edjouma (G-Production/Universal SRC), who helped develop his style for his original compositions. BKS & DJ ScotteeLP mentored Certified, and helped him develop his skills as a producer. After graduation, Certified began engineering out of Studio 8121 (Silver Spring, MD). He currently produces/engineers for local DMV artists. Certified's greatest accomplishments in his young career are placements with Slaughterhouse, and engineering for The Clipse. In 2009, Certified released The Game 7 Mixtape, which featured artists/producers SDC, Brams, Blast & Prince Blakk. Currently, Certified is working on new mixtapes from "Bolds", and new material for R&B, and pop artists. Certified is putting together a new production team, Fall Back Entertainment, with his partners Christopher "Neazee" Neal, Damion "D-Watz" Watson, and manager Dave Hamburg. Certified awards much of his sucess to all of his peers/friends BKS, Brams, DJ ScotteeLP, Codes, Skeem, Dealz, D-Watz, Blast, Bolds, Neazee, DJ Beanz, Prince Blakk & soFLY.
