"DJ Laa Choc embodies confidence, beauty and strength"
-Alean Elston, style editor for Vehem Magazine.
She hails from a city where music legends are born. Laa Choc received her official start as the feisty co-host of Detroit's 107.5 FM's "On Air Heat" weekly talk show. Audiences gravitated toward her witty humor and blunt opinions, which fueled this lady's drive to do exactly what she loved. The Detroit native always had a gift for entertaining a crowd.
Seamlessly, she fuses music, writing and fashion. "In this field it's just as important to have a valuable resume and a good face card," DJ Laa Choc explains.
You can catch DJ Laa Choc spinning in her 5-inch stilettos and lip gloss at fashion, corporate and entertainment events.

DJ MIM is a female DJ whose life-long love affair with music drew her to the craft of deejaying. She was born and resides in the nation's capital, Washington, DC, where the music scene has mainly been known for the underground genre, Go-Go. Growing up during the 80s, she didn't realize after scratching on – and scratching up – her first record at the age of 8, that 20 years later she would leave corporate America, launch her own mobile entertainment service and become a professional DJ. Throughout the years leading up to her DJ career, DJ MIM amassed a vast and very diverse music collection. Many DJs get locked into just being able to perform a specific genre, but she definitely is not a one-genre DJ. She enjoys and spins an eclectic mix including: Hip-Hop, Reggae, R&B, Pop, Soca, House, Go-Go, Alternative/Rock, Dubstep, Electro & Trance. After spending some time in the Philippines in 2007, DJ MIM was energized by the performances and skills of the Filipino club DJs and their use of Serato (vinyl emulation hardware/software). After returning to the States she decided to digitally convert her entire music collection for use with Serato in order to quickly access all of her music via laptop and portable hard-drives. Even though CDJs have been in use heavily over the past few years, she prefers to perform with the old-school set-up and rocks with real turntables.
DJ MIM has always followed the careers of and been influenced by DJs such as: Grandmaster Flash, Jam Master Jay, Jazzy Jeff, Kool Herc, Red Alert, Spinderella and Beverly Bond. She studied the greats and prides herself on being a self-taught DJ whose style reflects a passion for blending and mixing music. Every time she touches the turntables she likes to create her own signature soundtrack. Her skills create a memorable experience for every event she performs at and leaves the crowd impressed with her seamless flow. Even though she feels it's still a novelty for some when they see a female spinning, she enjoys standing out and takes the accolades in stride. Her unique personality and professionalism continue to open many doors for her. She is very ambitious, humorous, and driven. She also aspires to include music production, artist management and sound engineering in her repertoire.
DJ MIM primarily is a club DJ with residencies at various clubs in the DC Metro area. She also performs at many community events, fashion shows, lounges, private parties, retail stores and weddings; has two weekly internet radio shows; and a mixshow on the first syndicated channel made available via cell phones. MIM is an A&R DJ, Certified Female DJ, Fleet DJ, Rock Solid Entertainment DJ and the official DJ for SoapboxX ™ Magazine. Additionally, she is the Official DJ for some independent artists, creates and hosts mixtapes and is an event promoter. What also makes MIM standout is the fact that she allocates time every month to give back to the community. She spins - without charge - as a charitable donation to support various causes, non-profits, and community activities.

"I don't just play music...I feel music. I grew up in a household where music was always playing. As a kid I listened to bands like War and Earth, Wind & Fire and, of course, everything from Motown. I've always enjoyed the sounds of many instruments. DJing keeps me connected to what I love and have a passion for - music!" - DJ MIM
