Mocca: Tell us where are you from? What was life like growing up there?
OS:I'm from West Philly the bottom 42st. When I was young I really didn't understand how poverty stricken it was until I got older and was able to really understand, but it was really harsh, we made the best out of the situations.
Mocca: When did you know that Hip Hop had your heart; that this is what you wanted to do?
OS: One word to describe me would have to be music, music was a big part of the ghetto not just hip hop it was names like Marvin Gaye, Micheal Jackson, Luther Vandross, and Anita Baker that I heard coming from downstairs when my family had functions. It wasvery interesting to me at a real young age.
Mocca: How would you describe Omillio Sparks in 1 word?
OS:Risky! I take risks.
Mocca: How did you become a part of State Property?
OS: After the movie was shot Roc- a – Fella made us a group.
Mocca: What was it like working with the State Property Collective?
OS:It had its ups and downs, but overall it was a great experience.
Mocca: When and where was your first show?
OS: My first show was the Black House on Lancaster Ave.
Mocca: How does it feel when you hit the stage?
OS: Its mixed emotions, I'm nervous and my adrenaline is rushing at the same time.
Mocca: What type of vibe do you want your music to give the audience?
OS: The type of vide I want my music to give the audience is awareness as well as the feeling of living your life.
Mocca: Where do you get your inspiration for your material?
OS:I would have to say I get my inspiration from my many encounters in life. Whether good or bad they have influenced my writing in some way.
Mocca: How long have you been in the game?
OS:I have been in the game for 11 yrs, as far as the industry like dealing with contracts.
Mocca: What projects are you working on?
OS: I'm currently working on an H.B.O special, as well as my second solo project.
Mocca:I had a chance to hear your new single while you were in the booth at Studio Braat in Adams Morgan, DC. It was a definite banger! Tell me about that.
OS: What more can I say cheddar, green, money, mula (Laughs)
Mocca: How did you hear about BRAAT Musik/Studio Braat?
OS:I heard about BRAAT Musik/ Studio Braat through I.Q one of my business partners, that's part of team Sparks.
Mocca: How do you see the future of Hip Hop?
OS: I see the future of Hip Hop as something that's evolving on a consist basis.
Mocca: What producers are you working with?
OS: My current producers are J. Dunny, Hollyhood Rockstarz, and the Braat Musik. I'm open to working with all producers.
Mocca:Are you signed to a label, or looking to sign with a label?
OS: I'm LLC right now, but OS ENT is all ears right now.
Mocca: Who are some artists you want to work with?
OS: I have worked with many artists, to name a few I would list Prince, Andre 3000, Drake, Swiss Beats, and Marsha Ambrosius.
Mocca: What drives Sparks?
OS: I would have to my family and the folks around me who just believe that anything is possible. I love to prove people wrong and especially the ones who talked shit with no solutions and slimballs make me go hard too, shady people period.
Mocca: What message do you want to leave with the fans?
OS:The strength is in the numbers, bow pay close attention to that.
Smooches, Mocca @MoccaStyles
