BABS BUNNY ~ Still The QUEEN of The Ring

If you are wondering what Babs Bunny (formerly of P. Diddy's Making The Band) has been doing lately. I am here to tell you!

Lynese Wiley, of Brooklyn, New York, better known to us as Babs Bunny, is the CEO of the hottest female emcee battle movement on the planet, rightfully titled, "Queen of The Ring."

Approximately 1 year ago, Babs teamed up with the owners of Grind Season, Vague and Debo to become the female face of the movement and take it to the next level. With her connects, experience and the collaboration of their ideas, Queen of The Ring took off and can't be stopped.

I had a chance to attend "Queen of The Ring ~ Watch the Throne," on Feb 4, 2012. It was held at Kid Kelly's Boxing Gym in the East New York section of Brooklyn. Which happens to be my stomping ground. This was the highly anticipated battle to settle a 2 year back and forth freestyle rivalry between emcees, QB Black Diamond and Ms Hustle. It will solidify who is really "The Queen of The Ring"

Now, don't get it twisted there were many lady emcees on deck that evening, and they are NOT to be played with. They came with bars hard enough to go against the best of the best in the male dominated freestyle league and they came ready to battle. Yeah, I said it! High heels, mini dresses lip stick and all. Some of the names on the card were, Lexx Banko, Krissy Yamagucci, Raine, Star, Imah X, and the 4 emcees who participated in the events first 2 on 2 freestyle battle, Tori Doe and Don Lady vs. Phara Funeral and Shooney Da Rapper. The hairs are still standing on my arms. I watched in awe and I was more than happy to be a spectator and not in the battle. I also spotted some special appearance guests who came out to show support, Star of Star and Buckwild, and Murda Mook, who recently signed with Ruff Ryderz, one of the illest freestyle battlers.

If you are not familiar with this movement, get familiar! If you love hip hop and respect the art of freestyle. If you love hip hop and respect the female emcees position in this game. If you just LOVE HIP HOP. This is something to see. Bring "Queen of The Ring" to your city.
