Things That Make You Go Hmm!!!

If I said T.I., Joe Budden, Fabolous, Rick Ross, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, The Lox and Dr. Dre - what would you say? Probably same thing I said, all dope MCs. Now what would you say if I said that they are all 30+? Surprisingly, I said - they should all stop rappin'. Why? I just can't believe rich millionaires who are still talking about the same things they talked about when they first came into the game. I am a fan of all these artists, way more than the new spittas out here, but this is a young man's game that the old heads are dominating. I even think it is time for Lil Wayne and Bow Wow to hang it up (they're under 30). They've been killing the game for 10+ years, easily. Let's give some new talent a chance. If they fail, they fail but at least they were given a chance.

So who is the new generation? I dunno but with artists like Drake, J. Cole, Diggy Simmons, Wale, Wiz, Cory Gunz and BIG Sean on deck, I'm pretty sure the rap game will be fine. Not to mention we still have some young vets like Lloyd Banks, Jae Millz and Young Chris who could lead the way.

So I guess what I am saying is if you're getting up there in age and your rap career hasn't took flight, keep it grounded. If you're up there in age and you have killed it, enjoy your money and pass the baton, you've made your mark, let someone else make theirs.

When I was in ATL a few weeks ago my boy Marq hip'd me to something that I hadn't notice. Now, I want your opinion. Do you think that Rick Ross is stealing BIG's adlibs? His "UH" does sorta kinda remind me of when BIggie used to do it back in the day. Do you think Diddy gave him permission to bite one of the best rappers ever? You know what they say - imitation is the highest form of flattery!
